. Standing at 6 feet (183 cm), he has represented teams including Tasmania, Hobart Hurricanes, Hampshire, London Spirit, and Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL). 

Ellis's journey to professional cricket is marked by perseverance. After attending Menai High School, he relocated to Tasmania to pursue club cricket, supporting himself through various jobs such as construction laborer,

 landscape laborer, and charity fundraiser. His dedication paid off when he secured his first Tasmanian State contract, allowing him to focus entirely on cricket. 

He made his Big Bash League debut for the Hobart Hurricanes on December 20, 2019.  Ellis's international debut for Australia came in August 2021,

 where he made history by becoming the first cricketer to take a hat-trick on his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut. 

In the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Ellis played a crucial role in Australia's fast-bowling lineup. His ability to deliver accurate yorkers and effective change of pace,

 particularly in death overs, has been instrumental in Australia's campaign. Despite being behind established bowlers like Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood, Ellis's adaptability and readiness to seize opportunities have been pivotal.
